William A. 'Bim' Burwell

William A. "Bim" Burwell, age 88, of Montrose, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose. Bim was born April 14, 1923 to Cecil and Mary (Hampton) Burwell in San Diego, Calif. He spent his childhood in Coronado, Calif. and graduated from high school in San Diego. Bim married Fay Goodale in October 1953 in Las Vegas, Nev. and celebrated 57 years together. He continued to reside in California and worked as an auto mechanic until 1970 when he moved his family from Chula Vista, Calif. to Montrose and made his home until his time of death.
Bim loved spending time with family and enjoyed keeping busy with tinkering and small repairs around the home.
Surviving family members include his wife, Fay, of the family home in Montrose; one son, Michael A. Burwell of Montrose; and daughter, Jere Burwell of Gunnison, Colo. Bim was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Georgia Weisgerber. At Bim’s request, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned.
